Shawn Underwod is the humor columnist for the regional online newspaper www.b-townblog.com, and a contributing writer to www.nightsandweekends.com. Her short stories regularly appear in their “Instant Gratification” humor column. Shawn’s short stories have also appeared in the anthologies "People of Few Words— Fifty Writers From the Writers’ Showcase of the Short Humor Site” (Lulu, 2009) and in “Laugh Your Shorts Off: Short Stories to Make You Giggle by Award Winning Authors” (CreateSpace, 2009).

Shawn loves to travel. While living with her family in France, she discovered a love for humorous lifestyle travel writing. Since then, Shawn has been documenting her extensive adventures on her website; www.shawnunderwood.com. Her first book,  a humorous travel memoir based on that trip to France, will soon be published by Five Star Misadventures. “Mommy, Are we French Yet?” will be available in the spring of 2010.

Shawn is a Pacific Northwest Native, and a graduate of Washington State University. She lives in the Seattle area with her three children, two poorly behaved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and her long-suffering husband of thirty years. When she isn‘t on the road, she is busy writing and reporting about her many travels.
