Indian summer is here, and I hope the misadventures in this issue bring a little more end-of-summer sunshine to your day. Enjoy!
 
On the book front-Keli DeRitis (co-owner of Poggi Bonsi and Cucina) and I attended our first book fair in Portland Oregon earlier this month. Our job was to peruse the multitude of exhibition stalls which offer a variety of educational sessions for the retail bookseller, librarians, and authors and small press publishers. In other words, I was there to promote myself with the help of my faithful and very knowledgeable companion, Keli. We attended sessions on creating a press kits book and marketing for authors. Jennifer McCord, my publisher consultant, continues to stress networking with librarians, book stores owners, etc. 
 
In preparation for the book release in January, I have purchased my ISBN number and created the Five Star Misadventures Publishing Company and am starting the cover design.
